Indian Railways has announced a significant policy change to prioritize the comfort and convenience of senior citizens, disabled individuals, and pregnant women by reserving lower and side lower berths in trains.
In response to the massive demand for these berths, 6 to 7 lower berths in sleeper classes, 4 to 5 in 3-tier AC coaches, and 3 to 4 in 2-tier AC coaches will now be reserved specifically for senior citizens.
This move aims to ensure a safer and more comfortable travel experience for these passengers, addressing their unique needs during journeys.
