The Current unit Price for Electricity stands at Rs 5.90 Per unit. The reduction will Provide Relief to Residents who have been vocal about the Financial burden posed by escalating energy bills.
Several Districts in Assam have witnessed Protests against increasing Electricity bills.* Protestors have voiced frustration over smart meter installation and accused the Government of prioritizing profit over People’s welfare.
CM Sarma noted that electricity bills tend to rise from June to September and decrease from October.
The Re. 1 reduction is a Response to Public concerns and Aims to alleviate the Financial burden.
